LingoHub now supports DeepL Translation Engine

Dear LingoHubbers,

If you like using translation engines for your software localization efforts, you are going to enjoy this latest LingoHub update. LingoHub is now supporting DeepL for machine translations 🎉

LingoHub uses DeepL to provide a reliable and extensive starting point for your translation.

Why Machine Translations with DeepL?

Machine Translation significantly accelerates the translation process for fast release cycles. When comparing the accuracy of DeepL translations to other similar services - it is remarkable.

DeepL's output is less probable to be a literal, word-to-word translation than most. Instead, the DeepL engine will catch the intended meaning of the sentence with all the shades between.

How does it work?

From now on, DeepL is the standard translation engine for LingoHub customers that already use machine translations. Google Translate will be used as a fallback. Please keep in mind that machine translations are part of the Professional and Enterprise plan.

If you do have any pricing questions, please view your current billing status or get in touch. We’re happy to help.

About DeepL:

DeepL is a machine translation service that launched in 2017, and converts words directly between English and eight languages: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Additionally, approximations of language equivalence are proposed among all of those languages, using a two-step process via an English pivot.

Changes to Pluralization Input [Temporary]

Dear LingoHubbers,

If you often translate to languages that include more than one plural form, we have good news.

Our new & evolved Editor will be up and running in Q1 of 2020.

One of the incoming improvements that makes us especially proud is the simplified full pluralization support.

This means your translators will be able to switch and navigate between all plural forms of your selected languages with ease and without restrictions in one Text Segment field.

Although the finish line is so close, we’re not just there yet. And in the meantime, we need your help.

As we are working on these changes, we have to keep the old Editor compatible with the new format. All pluralization forms for the Text Segment are now included in one text field, with the following format:

To better understand what these temporary changes mean for you and your team, please check out the following article in our Help Center.

And if you’re interested in finding out more about pluralization, check out our blog post: Pluralization (p11n) - the many of plurals.

We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Support Team.

Have a great day,

Your LingoHub Team
